Female Runner Policy

Our commitment to inclusion — in alignment with SheRACES

At Hellfire Events, we believe every runner deserves to feel welcome, supported and seen. We’ve followed the SheRACES guidelines from the start — not because it’s trendy, but because it’s the right thing to do.

Until now, we haven’t shouted about it, we thought it should just be the standard. But with only 15.1% of our sign-ups coming from female runners, it’s clear we need to talk about it, show our work and make change happen.

Here’s what we’re doing, as standard — to make our events inclusive, accessible and supportive for female participants.

Level the Start Line

Inclusive imagery
We make sure women are visible in our social media, emails, race photography and promotional materials. We also share real stories from female participants and actively encourage women to line up front and centre.

Clear, honest race info
You’ll always find full details on cut-offs, terrain, facilities and safety. No fluff, no guesswork. If it matters to you, it matters to us.

Generous cut-offs
All our events are designed to be achievable. You’ll never be rushed off the course and we build in time for support and pacing that works for more than just the front of the pack.

Pregnancy & adoption deferrals
If you're pregnant, adopting, or in the early postnatal period, you're welcome to defer your place for up to 2 years — no explanation needed, no pressure to decide quickly.

Equal the Experience

Toilets & hygiene
We provide female-only toilets at all our events and stock them with free period products wherever possible. No need to ask, just take what you need.

Night running support
Night running can be intimidating. That’s why we offer reflective signage, glow sticks, buddy-up options and a strong crew presence throughout the course, especially in the dark hours.

Breastfeeding & postnatal needs
Need to express or breastfeed at an event? Let us know in advance — we’ll make sure you have a safe, comfortable space near HQ or the start/finish area, with a chair and some privacy.

T-shirts that actually fit
When we offer merch, we always include female-fit options — no oversized unisex "small" pretending to be inclusive.

We highlight women’s performances in results, photos and stories — not as a side note, but as part of the core story of every event.
